Andrene Johnson serves as the Missions and Outreach Coordinator for Welcome Ministries. With over 20 years of experience in social services, she has worked extensively with families, infants, young children, and teenagers, specializing in in-home services. Throughout her career, Andrene has partnered with various federal and state organizations to empower families, facilitate reunifications, and motivate adults to pursue counseling and behavioral therapy.
In her ministry role, Andrene is currently leading a small group reading the book Set Boundaries, Find Peace. This self-discovery and self-improvement journey helps participants learn how to communicate the need for boundaries in their lives, ultimately finding peace through the process. Andrene believes that this journey requires effort and mutual support, and she is passionate about fostering that environment for growth and healing.
Andrene's journey of faith began when she was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit at the age of 15. Though she grew up in the church, her personal relationship with God didn’t develop until later, after facing many dark valleys in life. At her lowest point, she contemplated suicide, only to receive a timely text message with a link to the Virtuous Women’s Bible Study. That moment was a turning point, as Andrene realized that God had greater plans for her life. Since then, she has committed to strengthening her relationship with Him, eager to discover His purpose for her.
Beyond her ministry, Andrene loves bringing people together through activities like dining, movie nights, DIY projects, and outdoor adventures such as hiking, swimming, paddleboarding, and barbecuing. She enjoys creating safe spaces where people can relax, let go of their worries, and enjoy fellowship.
